I wore this costume to an early Halloween party a couple of days ago, and everyone loved it!

A few things you might want to know:

-I had to alter a few things. I’m only 5’3″, so I had to hem the bottom of the dress up about 4 inches to keep it from dragging on the ground. I also had to shorten the sleeves and alter the neckline.

-The neckline is made for women with larger chests. Someone with B Cups or smaller will likely need to alter it; I had to take it in an inch on each side. Otherwise, there is a lot of extra space, and the neckline is wide open.

-There is a really irritating mesh inside of the sleeves. It helps to keep the “poofy” shape of the sleeves. This actually irritated my skin so badly, my shoulders turned red and hurt. It was easily fixed by sewing a shoulder pad to sit underneath it.

-Do not expect to wear the crown. It’s far too large to stay on anyone’s head.

-The trim around neckline tears easily. Be careful not to stretch it much when you pull the dress on and off.

I am usually a size 8, so I bought a medium. I’m pretty sure the small would have been a bit too small in the waist. Once I finished the alterations, it was a comfortable costume! It is made of 100% polyester though, so expect to sweat if the weather is warm.

Because I think the sizing is a bit off, and the annoying mesh stuff in the sleeves, I took one star off my rating. Overall though, I was very happy with this costume. I will almost certainly end up wearing it again.

So I purchased this costume for a renaissance festival after I realized I don’t have the time to spend making my own dress! I got a size small even though small is a dress size 6-8! I am a zero in size so I took in the sides so that it would have a tighter fit on the torso (easy) fix! Being around 5’3 it was a bit long and I was happy b/c that gave me the opportunity to put a half full petty coat underneath it to give it a more regal and realistic look, once the petty coat was under it lifted the dress off the floor so I am able to wear flats without it dragging!! The worst part of the dress to me would be the very hard fish net material in the arms that’s supposed to make it puff not only is it itchy but the dress would look the same if u cut it out so I’ll have to make additional alterations, and the neckline is a bit to low so my bra shows, but nothing a little double stick tape won’t fix

I love it! We have a Renaissance faire coming up in october and I really didn’t want to be the ugly duckling of the group again. This dress is perfect! The fit is good too. The one thing I don’t like is that there are these mesh thingies. They are in the shoulders to keep the sleeves just the right amount of puffy, but those things are wicked scratchy. But that is the only thing I didn’t like, and that’s a tiny thing nobody can see that is easily fixed, I’m just going to wrab a bit of cloth around them so they don’t scratch me. This dress is very flattering, very elegant, very awesome.
